Something wrong with Blogger...

For some reason I'm not allowed to post pictures or make paragraphs at moment... I will try to figure out how to do that later.

What you need to know

Book: Vampire Hugh by Douglas Rees

Additional Info: Jenti means vampire, Cody doesn't like Massachuestts so he flunked out of his old school which is how he ended up at Vlad Dracul, he is guranteed straight A's because Vlad Dracul needs a few humans to participate in water polo which is a state required sport.

The Setting of Vampire Hgh

The setting of Vampire High plays a very important part in the book. The book is set in New Sodem, Massachusetts. The reason Cody goes to Vlad Dracul is because he flunks out of his old school. He flunked out of his old school on purpose because he and his family recently moved to snowy cold Massachusetts from sunny California which makes him mad at his dad.
If the setting was say a sunnier warmer place he may not of flunked out of his old school and then would not end up in Vlad Dracul. If the settings was warmer he also would not of met Justin.

Vlad Dracul

Dear Diary, 11/12/10
Alright, I know it's a little weird for a boy to have a diary, but I just need to vent. So today was my first day at this weird school called Vlad Dracul. By weird I don't mean just weird teachers (even though they all are) I mean everything is weird.
For example at dinner, which apparently means lunch, there were waiters who had delicious and strange foods and the dining hall was amazing! This whole school is amazing! Except the kids are really weird.... They all have black hair, super pale skin, and they all wear black sunglasses. In all of my years of school I have never seen a public school with crystal chandeliers and oil paintings just in the front hallway! The principal even had his pet wolf, Charon, show me my classes. I mean what kind of school is this!?
Well it turns out that the students and some teachers are vampires. Yep. Vampires. I found out from this kid Justin who is also a vampire. It's a weird school. I'll update you later on how Vlad Dracul, or as I like to call it Vlad Dracula, is.

Sincerely,
Cody

What you never knew about Jenti

Dear Diary, 11/14/10
So today Justin invited me over to his house and I learned a couple of interesting things about vampires, I mean jenti. Jenti don't like to be called vampires.
1. Vlad Dracul always needs a couple of normal kids because they have to do water polo. Jenti can't get wet.
2. For dinner we had potato soup, salad, and apple pie. Justin told me they don't just eat blood.
3. Vampires aren't immortal! They need blood like we need air but it is mostly from blood drives....
I found out one thing that really bothers me though, I'm guaranteed straight A's. I know this should sound like great news to me because I flunked out of my old school which is how I got here, but I feel kind of worthless. Vlad Dracul needs to keep the human students for water polo so we just have a free ride...

Sincerely,
Cody

No Real Grades

Dear diary, 11/16/10
Oops. As you know I don't really want to just get free A's, so at the bottom of each homework assignment I wrote how I wanted to be graded like a jenti not a human. Even though the assignments were very hard and I barely knew anything on it I got an A on everything. Then Principal Horvath found out that I wanted to be treated like a jenti, and told me that what I had heard from my friends was inaccurate. Yeah right...
He told me all the teachers graded my work honestly. Well I disagreed and we got into a little fight. I seriously do not like that man. Anyway I'm going to keep trying to convince the teachers to grade me honestly.

Sincerely,
Cody

The ending

Dear Diary 6/21/11
I know haven't written here in a while, but I got really busy with school related things. After almost a year at Vlad Dracul I feel like a completely different person. I am proud to say I did at least one good thing this year while at Vlad Dracul. I got a Jenti into the water.
It wasn't easy, but I got Justin in eventually. But when he went into the water he didn't dissolve or anything, he morphed into a seal like creature that was the most amazing swimmer I've ever seen. Justin got some of his friends that had always been interested in water to come try out swimming. They all morphed to!
Then they played water polo with us, and thy actually won! Unfortunately the other coach said it was against the rules, but then my dad, who is also a lawyer, came and showed he other coach that we could in fact play. Turns out he knew the whole time about Jenti.
I just wonder what next year will bring...
Sincerely,
Cody
